Judy Mott is a modern couturier and has been creating beautiful wedding dresses, occasion wear and everyday couture for over twenty years.
Judy has developed a flair for creating a look which will subtly or dramatically enhance the individual qualities of each potential client. Her love of beautiful fabrics, an intuitive understanding of the female form, combined with the expert cutting of her colleague Joanna allow her to create dresses which will subtly flatter each individual shape. Judy enjoys working together with her clients to interpret and offer advice on their own ideas or requirements, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Many clients regularly return.
In addition to the bespoke service Judy also offers an alterations service, which is very popular with clients who have bought an outfit off the peg which needs to be fitted.
Bespoke silk bridal gowns range in price from £1800. Sample gowns can also be bought off the peg, often at half price.
Occasion wear starts at around £500 for a fitted silk dress, jackets are from £300 to £850. Coats start from around £600 with skirt and jacket suits starting from around £1000.
After completing her Theatrical Costume Diploma at Canterbury College of Art Judy moved to Tunbridge Wells in 1985. She made a small collection of silk evening wear and sold it to Silks, a local high quality retailer. In 1987 she took the collection to show buyers at the high end London stores and sold her collection to Liberty, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser and Simpsons in Piccadilly.
In 1989 she progressed to designing bridal gowns, initially sold to bridal boutiques in London and the South East. In 1990 she opened her own bridal shop next to her workroom in the Sussex Mews, off the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells, concentrating entirely on bespoke bridal wear and occasion wear.
